What speeds can I expect?

You can generally expect between 10 and 50Mbps. Please note, however, that speeds are determined by the external environment around your home and where the router is situated in your home.

Can I use my Telkom Fixed LTE Service Anywhere?

You can use the service anywhere, provided that you are within Telkom’s coverage zones. That said, Fixed LTE is designed to be a home product and can take up to 24 hours to connect to a new tower if you move your device.

How long will it take for my SIM / Router to be delivered?

Within 7 to 10 business days provided that payment has cleared and also depending on stock availability.

Do I need to RICA my SIM Card?

Yes. You will need to send us a copy of your ID and proof of residence (not older than 3 months) before we will be able to activate your service. We may request that you have copies of these to hand to the courier upon delivery of your SIM Card / Router.

Do I need to sign up for a contract?

No. We hate contracts. Our Telkom Fixed LTE service is a month to month service and can easily be cancelled with a calendar months’ notice.  

How much will I save on hardware costs?

If you place your order now, you can save up to R1,600.00. This is subject to stock availability and promotional terms and conditions. 

How many Telkom Fixed LTE Services can I order?

Maximum of 3 per legal entity (individual or business).

Do I need to change my APN Settings?

If you order your LTE Router and SIM from us we will preconfigure your Router to connect to the correct APN before it is shipped to you, however, if you make use of your own router, the APN settings should be read from the SIM Card when you insert it. 

How long does it take to activate after delivery?

Your sim card should be active within 30 minutes after delivery, provided that payment has cleared and we have received your RICA documents. In extreme cases it can take up to 72 hours. If you have trouble connecting after 30 minutes, please reboot your device and try connecting again. 

Can I upgrade or downgrade my service?

Yes, all Fixed LTE packages can be upgraded or downgraded. All service changes are only applicable from the 1st of the next month, regardless of when the service change request was submitted. This is a restriction from our provider.

What happens if I sign up in the middle of the month?

All Fixed LTE services are charged pro-rata. So, if you sign up in the middle of the month, you will only pay half the amount and receive half the data for the rest of the month. 

Does unused data roll over at the end of the month?

Unused in bundle anytime data will roll over for up to 60 days in a calendar month. Unused Night Time Data and Bonus Data does not roll over.

How do I view my usage?

Simply login to your Control Panel and you’ll see your usage and available data.

Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes, should you cancel your Fixed LTE package with Free Router within 6 months, or your account falls into arrears, you will be automatically be charged a cancellation fee of R999. Should you decide to cancel your SIM only package, a calendar months’ notice will be required.
